Tertiary Series: Security for criminals

I always love a good irony and here's a great one:
"Faced against such a highly secure means of transmitting of information, however, it's near impossible for law enforcement to listen in on and nab suspected criminals."
Blackberry is the Smartphone of Choice for Gangs and Criminals
Whoops! Didn't see that one coming..

"Now, if only they can make it smaller.." - some gangster

Try out the new Google Pervert

I didn't know Google was into the peeping-tom business until I read this:

Google camera trolling streets of Canadian Cities

"Strange-looking vans and cars are prowling the streets of 11 major Canadian cities and taking pictures of homes, lane ways, yards and people as part of the controversial "Street View" feature offered by Google Inc.

The feature allows someone using Google Maps or Google Earth to click on a street or a building and see a picture of the area. The service's ability to allow onlookers to swivel 360 degrees even gives Internet voyeurs the ability to take a virtual stroll of neighbourhoods."
A person being interviewed on the radio even said that this feature is not necessary but interesting because it allows you to see your own street, which he claimed is "pretty cool".

Here's what you should do if you want to see your own street live in 3D, HD, and whatever other (expletive) D you can think of..
  1. Go to front door
  2. Open door
  3. Walk outside
  4. Explore using the two cameras between both your nose and adjust your head for a better viewing angle.

Macbook Air Killer

I'm a big fan of anything with the potential to dethrone Apple's reign of darkness - and this might be one of those things..

Here's a guide on tweaking your bittorrent client for those of you who are fans of sticking it to the man.

Tweak uTorrent's Settings for Faster Downloads

Editor's Note: I do not condone sticking it to the man. I would rather not stick anything to any men.

Tertiary Series: iPodME Converts your Videos into iPods

For my lemming readers, this link will show you where to download iPodMe, a program that will apparently convert your videos into iPod format. This should be useful since (from what I hear) iPods are very imcompatible video players.

Anyways, enjoy!

Ted Rogers Rips Us Off From the Grave

Article of interest: Rogers hiking basic cable rates 5.2%

Ted Rogers continues to rip us off from the grave as he raises basic cable fees by 5.2%.

"Despite the weakening economy, all of Rogers’ 2.3 million basic cable customers will see the price of their basic Cable rise from $28.49 a month to $29.999 per month, an increase of 5.2%.

I mean it's basic cable; the reason why people have basic is because they can't afford (or prefers to save) the cash. It's no wonder why people download TV illegally. If there was more competition in Canada, then they wouldn't be so damn arrogant. I personally don't see the point in saving Canadian companies just because they're "Canadian". After all, money is more of a universal language than English. If you can't keep up, then beat it. It's not like Ted Rogers would rush to the aid of Canadian culture since he was the one who renamed the Skydome, "Rogers Centre" (At least he spelled it Canadian/British).

Five Year Old Needs Life...

I've been trying to beat this game, Taiko no Tatsujin on DS, for the past week with a q-tip for a stylus and a real stylus (only played on and off). I am on the medium level of difficulty (second of three levels) and I get 90%+. I'm pretty proud of myself since I'm not that good with video games. I wanted to see if people posted videos of this game...now I expect some people who will do ridiculously well - but...well, just watch this yourself.

Even if the kid doesn't get perfect, which is virtually impossible with only two hands, at least the drum beats sounded right. It friggin' puts me to shame...this kid is FIVE for !@#$'s sake. FIVE! If I wasn't busy working full time...

Sony Cyber-shot DSCT77

As a part of my campaign to reduce personal debt, I will ask myself one simple question when deciding whether or not to buy something: do I NEED it?

I have reached the conclusion that I absolutely NEED this...

My TV is possessed

I'm watching TV one night and it craps out - it looked scrambled. I was on my knees for a couple of hours trying to fix it to no avail. Testing the damn thing was the most annoying part since I have to leave the TV on and sweat it out. Did I mention it only breaks when I am watching something that cannot be interrupted? Brandon Jacobs was breaking a tackle, had an open field and SHHHHHHHHHH. It's almost 2009 for !@#$'s sake.
I should not have to reach to the back of the TV and wiggle the coaxial cable in order to watch the only football game available on basic cable. Did I mention that it changed channel by itself today? The !@#$ing thing is possessed...

(Note: At the time of writing, my five years old Acer laptop crashed, requiring a restart. Luckily, it was auto-saved, otherwise I would've broken my laptop.)
